About Next2Fix

Next2Fix publishes free, step-by-step guides for everyday technology problems. You can read every guide without creating an account, and the site has no sign-up or contact forms.

Information that may be collected

Next2Fix uses Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used. When you visit, Google Analytics may collect basic technical and usage information, such as:

  • the pages you view and how long you stay on them
  • how you arrived at the site, for example from a search engine or another website
  • your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language
  • your approximate location, such as country or city
  • interactions such as scrolling, clicking links to other websites, or starting to use the search box, but not what you type into it

Like any website, the hosting provider that serves Next2Fix may also process technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

How Google Analytics is used

The information is used in aggregate to understand which guides are useful, how people find them, and what to improve or write next. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to recognize a browser across visits and pages.

Next2Fix does not intentionally send names, email addresses or the text you type into the site search to Google Analytics. It does not assign you a user ID, and Google Analytics advertising features are not turned on.

Your choices

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private browsing window.
  • You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (opens in a new tab), which Google provides for supported browsers.
  • Many browsers and extensions can also limit tracking. The guides work the same way with these tools turned on.

Advertising

Next2Fix does not show ads today. Advertising may be added in the future to help keep the guides free. If that happens, this policy will be updated to explain what changes.

This policy may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
